Hi, my name is Darbi! I am someone who cares deeply about humanity and treating all people with dignity. As a therapist in training, I find it an honor to celebrate individuals and their unique experiences. My focus is on creating a welcoming environment where you can dig into who you are with a sense of curiosity and self-kindness. I’m all about holding space for every part of your identity, especially in exploration. I’m mindful of how past experiences and systems of oppression might shape your journey, and I take a trauma-informed approach. I believe that healing past hurts can start when we feel accepted and affirmed, which is the environment I strive to create in the therapist room.

Gender identity and sexuality exploration are particular areas I am passionate about. I’m especially drawn to working with queer folks who’ve gone through religious trauma. As someone with lived experience in this area, I know how tough and personal these experiences can be. I’m here to walk beside you, offering empathy, support, and understanding as you navigate your path to healing and self-discovery.

I’m currently in my final year of a master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University. Before joining the counseling world, I worked in audio, radio, and podcasting. You can also find me outside most days of the summer. I love being warm and receiving large quantities of vitamin D. When I’m indoors, I have the honor of snuggling with my cat Stromboli.
