I completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University in 2020 and have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I speak Spanish as well as English. My approach in therapy is to illuminate the client’s self-knowledge through processing and action oriented work via psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy respectively. Psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on gaining a stronger sense of self-awareness and a better understanding of how past behavior and habits influence the present. Then action oriented for change in the present is CBT focusing on replacing and actively catching negative habits or thoughts that keep us rooted in negative patterns.
I am anti-racist/ableist/sexist, sex positive and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist striving to create a safe space for those who work with me. I have a strong background of working with those that struggle with substance use dependency, depression, anxiety, and individuals with active or worsening trauma symptoms.
